Aion LX Plus – car can go 1,000 km per charge

For comparison, the American electric vehicle Lucid Air is equipped with a 113 kWh battery pack, which means that the battery pack of the Aion LX Plus has a capacity of 28% larger. And if the Air’s journey is 836 km per full charge (according to the US Environmental Protection Agency’s assessment), the Aion LX Plus version is 1,008 km (according to information on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology). Being included in the MIIT catalog is also the last major regulatory process for a vehicle to be sold in China. That means local customers are only a few months away from being able to buy an electric car that can go more than 1,000 kilometers per charge.

Earlier this year, Chinese startup Nio also announced the ET7 model with different battery pack versions, the lowest 70 kWh and the highest 150 kWh allowing the car to run 1,000 km per charge. However, the 150 kWh battery pack version was not sold after that.

The battery pack is larger, so the size of the Aion LX Plus is also slightly larger than the Aion LX version (650 km per charge), with an increased length of 50 mm. More importantly, the weight of the more advanced version is also 540 kg heavier, at 2,720 kg.

The Aion LX Plus will make its debut at the Guangzhou Auto Show, which takes place November 19-28. The selling price has not been announced. The Aion LX model in China is currently priced at $35,900.
