Man Utd was surprised when Solskjaer gave him a week off

BrotherAccording to the British Daily Mail, Man Utd staff and players were shocked when coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gave him a week off after the 0-2 loss to Man City over the weekend.

With the majority of Man Utd’s first team players back on duty with the national team, Solskjaer decided to give the remaining players and team staff a week off, instead of letting them practice at Carrington. The Norwegian coach and his students have not yet practiced, after losing to Man City 2-0 in the 11th round of the Premier League on November 6.

Follow Daily Mail, this is an unexpected move by Solskjaer amid the increasing pressure for dismissal in Manchester. He was under a lot of pressure when Man Utd played poorly, losing four matches in the English Premier League, including a 0-5 defeat to Liverpool and the latest a complete 0-2 loss to great rival Man City. They currently drop to sixth with 17 points, nine points behind leaders Chelsea. Before that, the “Red Devils” were eliminated early from the League Cup, and were uncertain about continuing in the Champions League when they won only two out of four matches in the group stage.

On November 8, Solskjaer, his wife and two sons rented a private plane to return to Kristiansund, Norway to enjoy a short vacation during the time when the clubs were not playing. Man Utd has 16 non-national players, including three goalkeepers Lee Grant, Tom Heaton, Dean Henderson, four defenders Raphael Varane, Phil Jones, Alex Telles, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, five midfielders Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Amad Diallo, Nemanja Matic, Donny van de Beek, and four strikers Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, Mason Greenwood, Jadon Sancho. Paul Pogba also recently withdrew from the France team due to a thigh muscle injury. He is in danger of being sidelined for more than two months.

Among these, midfielder Raphael Varane still has to go to the club’s headquarters every day to monitor and treat a hamstring injury. Striker Marcus Rashford also had to see a doctor to find his best health, after withdrawing from the England team.
