Mitsubishi Xpander 2022 uses CVT gearbox, electronic handbrake

Changes in the exterior include a new grille, redesigned front bumper, especially the horizontal T-shaped LED headlights. Then the wheel size is also larger, from 16 to 17 inches, with a new shape.

The rear bumper is also tweaked, the taillights combine turn signals and reverse lights. The new Xpander also has an electric control button on the rear door. The ground clearance has also increased and is now 220 mm instead of the current 205 mm, which is also the highest level in the segment.

The cabin of Xpander 2022 has also been upgraded, adding panels with soft materials. Newly designed steering wheel, sportier style. Interior colors combine two tones, black-brown and black-beige.

The GLS and Exceed versions use a 7-inch screen, while the Sport and Ultimate versions use an 8-inch screen. The instrument cluster is more modern, automatic air conditioning, and the second row of seats has armrests with cup holders.

The center console area has been redesigned to increase storage space. Below the armrest can hold 4 bottles of 600 ml capacity. Behind the armrest, there are Type-A and Type-C USB charging ports to increase comfort for rear seat passengers.

Xpander 2022 uses a CVT gearbox instead of the current 4-speed AT, with an upgraded suspension system. The engine remains the same, type 1.5 i4 MIVEC, capacity of 104 horsepower and torque of 141 Nm.

Safety features include electronic handbrake and automatic brake hold assist, cruise control, automatic door lock sensor, Stop and Go, hill start assist, electronic balance and emergency stop lights. level (ESS).

The upgraded Mitsubishi Xpander is sold with 6 optional paint colors. The car will be launched at the Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) on 11-21 November. The MPV model will also make its way to other markets in Southeast Asia.

Since its initial sale in 2017, Xpander has been present in several markets around the world, mainly in Southeast Asia. In addition, the MPV is available in several countries in the Middle East, Latin America, South Asia and Africa. Cumulative sales by the end of October this year are nearly 372,000 vehicles.
