Wild anemone blooms at Chu Dang Ya volcano

Chu Dang Ya is about 500m high, belongs to Ploi lagri village, Chu Dang Ya commune, Chu Pah district, about 30 km northeast of Pleiku mountain town. This is an ancient volcano (protruding above the ground) that was active in the Central Highlands millions of years ago.

Two junior high school girls in Pleiku city took advantage of their day off, riding motorbikes down Chu Dang Ya volcano to take pictures and admire this flower.

Nguyen Thi Huyen, 25 years old in Pleiku city, said that for 3-4 years now, every time wild sunflowers bloom, she also stops here to visit and take souvenir photos with her friends.

Wild sunflowers, also known as chrysanthemums, painted anemones belong to the daisy family, with a dark yellow color. Grows a lot in the Central Highlands provinces.

Three Jarai children tie wild sunflowers into chains, sell them to tourists to take pictures, 10,000 VND each. Each day a child can earn 50-100 thousand VND.

Every November, Chu Pah District People’s Committee also organizes Wild Anemone Flower Week – Chu Dang Ya Volcano. However, this year because of the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, this festival cannot be held.
