After months of rumors, Apple has announced iPhone SE 2022 at dawn on 9/3 Vietnam time in their first event of the year called “Peek Performance”. Alongside these products, the company also introduced the iPad Air M1, the new Green color for iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro, Mac Studio with M1 Ultra chip, and Studio Display – the first display since Pro Display XDR 2019.
According to Apple, the iPhone SE 2022 has an “icon” design that people love with a 4.7-inch screen and a Home button that supports Touch ID. This new generation has the same chip as the iPhone 13, the A15 Bionic. With 4GB of RAM, the iPhone SE 2022 retains the same storage capacity as the previous version: 64GB, 128GB and 256GB.
In addition, the iPhone SE 2022 also has IP67 certification for dust and water resistance, wireless charging capabilities, and a larger battery than previous versions. Another thing that sets it apart from the 2020 model is its support for 5G networks. Last but not least, this iPhone comes in three colors: Starlight, Midnight, and Red.
Camera-wise, the iPhone SE 2022 has a 12MP main sensor that supports Smart HDR 4 and features the exclusive iPhone 13 Photography Styles, albeit without the new Night and Cinematic modes. The front camera has the same 7 MP sensor, but Smart HDR 4 and A15 Bionic will probably produce better selfies than the previous version.
Despite 5G, the iPhone SE 2022 doesn’t support mmWave, it doesn’t support MagSafe accessories and the U1 chip. The starting price of the product also increased to $429.
One analyst said Apple is targeting the phone at first-time buyers and those who want to own a 5G iPhone without spending tens of millions of dollars more. This makes many people think of establishing the iPhone SE 2022 as one of their upcoming shopping destinations, especially in the context of the currently impacted economy.
