Samsung rolls out a new update that doesn’t reduce the performance of the Galaxy S22 anymore

After being accused of arbitrarily reducing smartphone performance, especially the recently launched Galaxy S22 series, plus Geekbench deleting performance test results, Samsung has released a new update to remedy this situation.

A new update is now available for the Galaxy S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra, to address Samsung’s Game Optimization Service app that arbitrarily reduces CPU and GPU performance while gaming.

Samsung rolled out a new update, which no longer reduces the performance of the Galaxy S22 - Photo 1.

Game Optimization Service is responsible for adjusting performance properly, to help optimize heat and battery life. However, Samsung does this secretly and doesn’t notify users. Also, benchmarking apps like Geekbench are not restricted, so the measured performance score and actual performance score are not the same.

The new update for Galaxy S22 has completely removed this Game Optimization Service feature. Therefore, users will get full performance when playing games on the Galaxy S22 smartphone.

However, there is another problem that occurs after users receive the new update, namely battery life. Since there are no more limits on CPU and GPU performance when playing games, the Galaxy S22 smartphone can generate more heat and also reduce battery life.

There is currently no detailed review on the battery life of the Galaxy S22 after the new update, as only users in Korea have been updated. Previously, while still experiencing a decline in performance, the Galaxy S22 Ultra had an impressive battery life, equivalent to the iPhone 13 Pro Max which was able to play games for more than 10 hours.
