The photo shared by the FPT University fanpage (below) is a photo of this former student and his colleagues in a startup project worth up to 3 billion USD.
Who’s that?
This former student is Nguyen Thanh Trung (SN 1992), the owner of the game Axie Infinity. Trung also became a startup inspiration for many young people when his startup project called Sky Mavis “tech unicorn” is worth up to 3 billion USD.

Based on Pioneer, High School for Gifted Students in Mathematics – Information on High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences – University of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. After that, he was recruited directly to FPT University and studied Software Engineering.
In 2012, while studying in his sophomore year of university, Trung decided to give up his studies to start a business. This shocked family and friends.
As co-founder and chief technology officer, Trung started his business with Lozi, the forerunner of today’s LoShip delivery app. After a while, Lozi quickly became one of the cult tech startups.
After more than 3 years of stopping studying to start a business, Trung left Lozi and decided to return to FPT University to complete his studies. Trung graduated from FPT University in 2017.
In early 2018, after retiring from his job at Anduin Transactions Company, Trung started a new start-up project called Sky Mavis with the game title Axie Infinity.
There were times even facing the risk of bankruptcy, but luckily, Trung and his comrades survived through it.
In 2021, the “sweet fruit” really came to the Trung group when Axie Infinity achieved great success, becoming a startup phenomenon in the tech world.
In particular, in October 2021, in the series B fundraising round, China’s Sky Mavis Company worth up to 3 billion USD, officially became the 3rd “technology unicorn” initiated by Vietnam. .
The phenomenon of start-up Mr. Nguyen Thanh Trung has been a great inspiration to young people who have, are and are about to start businesses. To start a business successfully, you need to think big, set big goals and most importantly dare to do, dare to face challenges and be persistent.
Axie Infinity was founded in early 2018 by Nguyen Thanh Trung and his colleagues Aleksander Leonard Larsen, Doan Minh Tu, Ho Sy Viet Anh and Jeffrey Samuel Kim Zirlin.
