Fan discovered that the Titan parasite “accidentally” looks exactly like a real creature

The story of Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan) was at its peak as the draw neared its final game. After a long time, manga and anime readers can watch Vibration live through animated footage.

In the latest episode of the fourth season of Shingeki no Kyojin, the anime revealed the origins of the giant Titans and the background of Ymir Fritz. The story finally got to the point where Eren Yeager managed to inherit the Primordial Titan’s power from Ymir Fritz.

However, in one scene, the anime shows an unknown creature who, after merging with Ymir Fritz, gives the slave girl the power of the Primordial Titan. This may seem quite normal from an anime viewer’s point of view, but some fans have attributed its origins to a creature that existed millions of years ago in real life.

According to a series of tweets and images circulating on the Internet, fans have confirmed that the parasite appeared in the final episode of the last season of AoT anime. synonymous with an extinct species of creature called “Hallucigenia”. Scientific studies confirm that Hallucigenia is one of the oldest living organisms existing around 500 million years ago, during the Cambrian period. A British paleontologist named Simon Conway-Morris discovered the fossil of this extinct species in 1977.

The extinct Halucigenian creature

The description of Hallucigenia states that the creature had about ten pairs of bony legs. When it was first discovered, scientists named it “Hallucigenia: The Worm with the Miss Head”. However, later research also found his missing head. But interestingly, when comparing the parasitic forms of the Titan Progenitor and Hallucigenia, they are clearly very similar.

Since then, many AoT fans have become increasingly convinced of the theory that the parasitic Ancestral Titan is a fictional representation of the ancient creature Hallucigenia.

However, the parasitic identity of the First Titan is not explicitly stated in neither the manga nor the anime. Hajime Isayama – the writer of this series, never mentioned anything about this parasite, so it’s hard to say that the other parasites were inspired by real creatures. Or just random fantasy.

There is a section of fans who believe that a certain god took pity on Ymir Fritz and gave him the power of the Primordial Titan. While there are others who believe that parasites are the source of all life on this planet. Of course, there is no solid evidence to confirm these two hypotheses.
