Before the content of public interest, on the evening of March 14, the Ministry of Health issued a document stating: People with COVID-19 (F0) should minimize leaving the isolation room, but not leave the house.

On March 14, the Ministry of Health issued Decision 604/QD-BYT on the issuance of “Guidelines for management at home for people with COVID-19”.

In Section 5.4 on the implementation of infection prevention measures, it is clearly stated: COVID-19 and caregivers or housemates of a person with COVID-19 taking infection control and infection prevention measures, as follows:

“People with COVID-19 need to limit going out of isolation. When leaving the isolation place, they must wear a mask and keep a distance from others.”

This is one of the notable new contents in the new Guidelines of the Ministry of Health. However, this content causes many different interpretations.

In the face of this many interpretations by the public, on the evening of March 14, the Guidelines Editorial Team adjusted a number of points in Decision 604/QD-BYT to clarify and avoid misunderstandings:

This latest guidance from the Ministry of Health replaces the Decision of the Minister of Health: No. 261 dated January 31, 2022, promulgating Guidelines for managing people with COVID-19 at home, and No. 528 of March 3, 2022. issued Guidelines for the home management of children with COVID-19.

This latest guidance prescribes infection control and infection prevention measures for F0 and caregivers or people living in the same household as F0, such as: Caregivers or family members in the same household always wear a mask, keep a distance way when exposed to F0; The isolation place should be kept well ventilated, limiting the use of difficult-to-clean items (stuffed animals, paper, paperboard, etc.) in this area.

Wash or disinfect hands frequently. Disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces such as countertops, doorknobs, hand-held devices, toilets, sinks… daily and when dirty; Classify and collect infectious waste according to regulations.

Regarding diet and activities: Drink water regularly, do not wait until thirsty to drink water; enhance nutrition: eat enough nutrients, eat fruit, drink juice… Do not skip meals. Patients should eat enough nutrients, increase intake of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Should rest. Adults should do light physical activity (suitable for their health status), practice breathing for at least 15 minutes a day, think positively and maintain a comfortable mind.
