Original AC dissection 420K and market goods 33K – the price difference is dozens of times, what’s the difference?
Hello friends. The original remote that came with the TV and AC “sick” after a long service, which is unavoidable. In some cases, we can easily fix it by some simple means such as replacing the battery or cleaning the contact surfaces, and if the disease is so severe that it cannot be cured, alternative plans should be considered.
By the way, my Daikin 2 way AC remote control broke some buttons (can’t be pressed), so I went online to look for another remote.
Walking through a number of e-commerce sites, I was really surprised that the remote prices vary so much.
Same model, but some are selling for over 38K, some shops say “real stuff” for 94K, or very high 420K.
In the midst of such a price matrix, I ordered the best breed duck for 33K (original price 38K) to try to see if there was anything.
External inspection
The original remote is on the left, while the market controller is on the right. From the outside, you can immediately see some of the differences:
Front
+ In the middle and top of the original remote control there is a Daikin logo, and on the remote market it says “FOR DAIKIN A/C” ;
+ Blue color on the border of the LCD screen from the original remote and different markets.
+ Fonts displayed on the LCD screen of the original controls are thicker and sharper.
+ Fonts on native controls are thicker, sharper and more glossy than market controls.
+ The feeling of pressing the buttons on the original remote was so tedious it even stuck and I had to use my hands to pull it out to get back up.
The specialty is that on the original remote there is a small hole to reset (reset), and on the remote market there is no such hole. From there, the position of the crown is also different.
Back
+ At the bottom of the original remote control is printed with the remote code and manufacturer’s recommendation in English, while the back of the remote control does not write any information.
+ The original remote uses 3 black screws, and the 33K controller is white steel.
Evisceration
After removing the 3 screws on the back of both controls and prying out the plastic lever, we can access the inside of the circuit board. This board is also mounted on the front of the controller with 3 screws (black screw – original control, white screw – market control).
It’s easy to see that behind the original control board there is a 4V/100 uF condenser and a blue 4 Mhz quartz, and in the market controllers, there is a pre-printed position and a waiting hole for 1 capacitor but Nothing. Where the market controller infrared LED is printed with the diode symbol, the original control does not have the symbol in the location where the component is located.

+ Surprising because on the original controller circuit board there was quartz and a lot of glued together components (capacitors, resistors, transistors) whereas the 33K controller side had no components – except the microprocessor.
+ On the back of the original remote microprocessor with code SBL3124S, the market controller microprocessor does not have any information.
+ The number of pins in contact with the original control LCD screen is also much higher than the market controller.
+ The reflective sheet of the LCD screen of the two remotes also has a different color: green (market goods) and gray (original). On the back of the original remote’s LCD screen, there are numbers printed, while the remote market doesn’t write anything.
In addition to the most obvious differences on the screen, the buttons of these two controls also show a “class” difference. In particular, just before I took it off, I found the feeling of pressing the market control buttons very boring, and when holding the 2 buttons in my hand, the cheapness of the market control was even more pronounced.
+ The button plate of the original controls (left) has 2 unused buttons that are sunk but the back still has contacts; the buttons are carefully colored;
+ In the market control button plate (on the right), these 2 buttons are not filled with rubber, resulting in 2 ugly tear holes; The buttons are uneven, indicating that the coloring is very sloppy.

So, we have dissected the stomach and compared 2 ACs with a price difference of more than 10 times (420K and 38K). I think this price difference stems from the quality of the finishing, the number of components used and most importantly, the “grey matter” that must be removed when one side is research and manufacturing, and the other side is only “star”. But to come up with a product that can function as a genuine remote control (not to mention durability) for less than 40,000 VND is downright honorable!
