Renovating a studio apartment located in an old French villa in the Rustic style

The studio apartment is located in an old French villa in Hanoi, renovated by the owner in the Rustic style – a style for those who love the natural and rustic.

The initial condition is quite old, however, after the repair process, the space is modern, comfortable and beautiful.

Duong Ngo shared, this is the apartment she rented, but since she studied art and loves beauty, she wants the living space to be aesthetically pleasing. So, she decided to reform herself.

Before fixing, she consulted online, learned construction techniques… and asked a few friends who work in architecture for advice.

During a month of overhauling the apartment, she said there were hundreds of things coming up. From small items such as buying cement bags, water pipes, expansion nails, glue… to furniture, decor… she buys or gives design ideas to woodworkers.

Rustic style brings rustic, close and romantic. Green plants in the room increase the vibrancy of the space.

Regarding the house painting, she hired a professional worker, but on the day of work, for some reason, people “exploded” the contract. Finally, she painted herself in 3 days.

She happily said: “I did not understand at that time what was the motivation to paint such an area. While I was still a student at an art school, I was still lazy when I was painting 60x90cm in size.

The entrance to the toilet is separated by a large ceiling cabinet, solving the problem of cleaning directly into the bed, and at the same time, there is a neat place to store things. “Repairing a house alone is quite extreme, having to calculate the existing financial balance, handle the stages of hiring workers, supervising construction, buying materials… However, I am a “house addict” so I I feel happy and I have accumulated a lot of good experiences for myself,” said Ms. Duong Ngo.
