And below, we invite you to refer to the tips shared by Thanh Tram!

To pick up swiftlets, preparation is very important. You need to prepare the following tools:

– Fine tweezers: is a specialized sharp-pointed tweezers to pick up bird’s nest feathers / eyelash extensions / pick up watch components… Price range 20-70k. The 20k type can be picked up, but the steel is thin, so it’s easy to bend the head. Tram’s tree as shown in the picture is 70k, quite durable. The tweezers are extremely important, sisters, grab them where they are, so it’s faster!

– Small eye basket with brass. Should be white for easy viewing.

– Small eye sieve

– Towels/milk towels

– White disc

– Table lamp, illuminating

Now get to work!

Step 1: Soak oats

– Before soaking, use a toothbrush to scrub the sand/cement, removing dry bristles that can be pulled by hand.

– Soak the oats within 30 MINUTES WITH COLD WATER (Do not soak in hot/warm water, it will lose the quality). Then take it out to dry, incubate in a milk towel and refrigerate for 6-8 hours. Do not soak the oats in water for a long time will keep the nutrition and toughness of the oats. If you keep the oats in the refrigerator, the oats will be flexible and tough, and the feathers will come out from the nest without sticking to the meat, making it easier to pick up.

Step 2: Separate the yarn

At this point, you will separate the dirty, hairy part to make your own; Separate cleaning part. 6 parts clean 4 feathers pick it up faster than 10 feathers off. Usually the legs, lower belly and loofah inside will have more hair, sand, and eggshells than the back (upper layer of fibers).

Step 3: Clean (do each part in turn after separating in step 2)

– Put the bird’s nest in a small eye basket with a catch basin, drain the water to flood the basin. Use your hands to separate, tear, and loosen the bird’s nest and feathers. Let it settle and gently pour away the floating feathers. Repeat this several times until you feel less floating hair.

Yen has soaked and made it here, ladies!

– After seeing that the oats are loose, use your hands to stir the oats in the basket with a bowl of water. Hairs, sand and eggshells will drift out a lot. Repeat several times until it feels clean. Drain – stir – lift basket – pour. Anyone who is afraid that the oats will fall out in this section can pour water into the small eye strainer to catch it. Personally, I don’t see much and it takes more effort to pick up this piece of debris, so I dumped it. Note that whoever plants the tree, it’s also good to catch this bird’s nest crumbs to water the plants!

– After doing all the above steps, lift the basket to drain. You will see large hairs that cannot get out. At this time, you can use tweezers to pick it up first to see the whole picture for clarity before officially picking up the table.

After cleaning, this time the nest is much less feathery.

– Use a milk towel to dry the part of the bird’s nest to prepare to pick it up. When squeezed dry, the oats will be looser, the water will not make the feathers stick to the nest, so it will be easier to pick up.

Step 4: Pick up oats

Start picking it up, at this point, everyone will do the same thing. Use your hands to break up small pieces, pick them up and drop them into a cup of water. Accomplished!

Nest after cleaning

Step 5: Recoat

After picking it up, however, there are still a few hairs left. So, when I’m done, I’ll put small handfuls of oats into the sieve, stir/chao bird’s nest in a bowl of water 1-2 more times. The hair will come out clean and white like bleach.

After you’re done, use a towel to wring it out, divide it into bite-sized portions, and put it in the freezer. Take it out every time you eat it NO NEED TO Defrost can still be cooked, eat well.
