According to analysis from Counterpoint Research, “Apple defect” is still the dominant company in the market with the most number of smartwatches shipped among suppliers. The report shows that the company’s 30.1% market share is far ahead of “rivals”, separate from Samsung – 10.2% as well as Huawei with 7.7%.

Even so, the average selling price of Apple Watch increased 3% over the same period last year. Because of this increase, Counterpoint said, Apple accounted for half of the total market revenue in 2021.

In 2020, the populous country only accounts for 3% of the market but has grown to almost 10% last year. Counterpoint Research Vice President Suejeong Lim said: “The positive growth of the global smartwatch market in 2021 has opened up future prospects. With the ability to monitor health parameters such as blood pressure, ECG and SPO2, these devices are becoming more common.”

The leader also said, “the appeal of smart watches will increase if they support mobile connectivity.” Currently, the Apple Watch has many versions with cellular connectivity available, so the company has a pretty big advantage.
