Ca Mau lets preschool children stop going to school, grades 1-7 learn online

From March 17, 2022, the preschool level for children will stop going to school; However, if the parents have a need and the school ensures the conditions, the child can still study directly.

Facing the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, the number of F0 cases among students and teachers increased, on March 15, the Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ca Mau province issued a directive related to teaching and learning in the area. .

Accordingly, the President of Ca Mau province agreed, for preschool level: For children to use to school. Parents care, nurture and educate children at home.

Assign the People’s Committees of districts and Ca Mau City to direct the Education and Training Department to review the needs of parents who need to send children, based on the actual situation of the locality, choose 1-2 central schools in the area to ensure favorable conditions in terms of facilities, prevention and control of the Covid-19 epidemic to nurture, care for and educate children according to the needs of parents; expenditures are made according to regulations.

Meanwhile, from 1st grade to 7th grade, students switch to Online Learning.

Teachers still come to class according to the school’s assigned program and schedule. The classroom is connected to a camera, the teacher creates a link for students to study at home. In case students have the need to learn directly and have the consent of their parents, they will still go to the normal face-to-face class.

Those schools that have not yet ensured the facilities and transmission equipment, in the immediate future, continue to maintain online classes as before, or teach via television.

For schools in the area that have not had Covid-19 cases or have infected cases but still ensure safety against epidemics, on the basis of consultation and consensus of the majority of students’ parents, they can organize direct teaching.

Besides, from grade 8 to grade 12 (including continuing education) continue to organize direct teaching and learning according to the regulations of the education and training industry.

According to the Ca Mau Provincial Command for the Prevention and Control of Covid-19 Disease, on March 14, the province recorded 3,529 new cases. In which, 129 cases of Covid-19 are teachers; 763 cases are students.
