Minister Bui Thanh Son affirmed Vietnam’s consistent stance, according to which international disputes and disagreements should be resolved by peaceful means, in compliance with basic principles of the United Nations Charter and international law, especially the principle of respect for the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of states. The Minister suggested the parties exercise restraint, reduce tensions and continue to make efforts to dialogue to find a long-term solution on the basis of conformity with international law and taking into account the legitimate interests of the parties; Vietnam is willing to join the international community to contribute to this process.
Minister Bui Thanh Son suggested the Russian side continue to organize humanitarian corridors and take measures to ensure the safety of civilians, including Vietnamese in Ukraine, to evacuate from war zones.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov highly appreciated Vietnam’s role and contribution to peace, stability and development cooperation in the region and the world; share recent developments on the conflict situation in Ukraine; affirmed that he would try his best to support the safe evacuation of Vietnamese citizens from the war zones.
The two sides also discussed bilateral relations, in which Minister Bui Thanh Son suggested that the Russian side continue to pay attention to and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Russia to stabilize life, production and business. .
