Hanoi officially reopened Hoan Kiem Lake walking street from March 18

Pham Tuan Long, Chairman of Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee, said that the district has decided to reopen the pedestrian street in Hoan Kiem lake area to develop tourism. The plan to reopen the pedestrian street of Hoan Kiem lake was approved by Hanoi city in policy and reopened on March 18.

Previously, in April 2021, Hoan Kiem District People’s Committee announced to suspend the organization of activities of walking spaces in the district from April 30, 2021 to prevent the Covid-19 epidemic.

Also related to the walking space in the capital, on the occasion of April 30 and May 1, the pedestrian street around the moat of Son Tay Ancient Citadel (Son Tay Town) will be put into operation. This will be the 4th pedestrian street in Hanoi.

Hanoi city has adjusted a number of measures “Safe adaptation, flexibility, effective control of the COVID-19 epidemic” in the new situation, on the basis that the epidemic in the city is under control, the rate vaccination rate of the people reached over 99.6%. The goal is to restore the economy, society, develop tourism and production and business activities in the city.

From today, March 15, tourism activities will be fully open, including domestic tourism, international arrivals and international travel. Director General of the General Department of Tourism Nguyen Trung Khanh said that this is both an opportunity and a challenge for travel and tour companies.
