Recently, a number of online newspapers have reported that many cashew exporters are at risk of losing hundreds of millions of dollars. In this regard, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has the following directives:
Assign the Ministers of Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Rural Development, Public Security, Transport and the Governor of the State Bank of Vietnam according to their functions and tasks to urgently coordinate with the Vietnam Cashew Association and the Vietnam Cashew Association. The relevant agencies and units shall examine and clarify the causes in order to take measures to handle and support according to their competence to ensure the lawful and legitimate interests of people and businesses, in accordance with the provisions of law. domestic and international laws, promptly report to the Prime Minister any difficulties or problems beyond their authority.
Information from the Vietnam Cashew Association said, Many cashew nut businesses in the country are in danger of losing nearly 100 containers worth hundreds of millions of dollars to Europe. Businesses are concerned that this could be a big scam as these businesses all sign contracts through Kim Hanh Viet Brokerage Company to export cashew kernels to Italy.
The incident stemmed from concerns when the goods had arrived in Italy, but up to this point, businesses all had a common situation of constantly changing SWIFT numbers – bank identification numbers.
