Prosecuting the biggest ever smuggling case of illegal cigarettes in Dak Nong

This afternoon (March 15), information from Dak Nong Provincial Police said that this agency has just issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the accused and order temporary detention for a man and woman for the crime of transporting Tens of thousands of packages of smuggled cigarettes circulated in the area.

The subjects being prosecuted for temporary detention include: Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet (SN 1969, residing in Gia Lai) and Nguyen Dinh Bao (SN 1978, residing in Binh Dinh).

Before that, at dawn on February 26, Road Traffic Police Team No. 2 – Police of Dak Nong Province during patrol duty at Km 1933+800 Ho Chi Minh Road (in hamlet 3, Quang Tin commune) , Dak R’lap district) discovered and arrested Nguyen Thi Anh Tuyet, a car owner who was illegally transporting 45 boxes of cigarettes (about 22,500 packs) of HERO and JET brands.

At about 2:00 a.m. on the same day, Road Traffic Police Team No. 2 continued to detect and arrest Nguyen Dinh Bao, a truck driver who illegally transported 30 boxes of JET branded cigarettes with about 15,000 packs.

The traffic police force of the provincial police has made a record, handed over people, vehicles and exhibits to the Economic Police Department of the provincial police for further investigation and clarification.

According to research, this is the biggest case of buying, selling, transporting and storing smuggled cigarettes in Dak Nong province so far.
