On the morning of March 15, through the social network Facebook, the General Staff of the Army Ukraine published a new report on the war situation in this country.
The content of the report noted that in the Sumy region, the Army Russia approached the city of Romny. The Ukrainian military also acknowledged that the Russian army is on the border between the Sumy region and the Poltava region – the Andriyashevka settlement south of Romny.
At the same time, the report notes that the Russian army is tightening the siege in the Chernihiv city area, attacking Ukrainian units from Slavutych in the west and from Branitsa and Kalita in the east.
Based on documents released by the Ukrainian Army, it can be said that the Russian side’s move to the Kalita residential area northeast of Kiev could help them control an important section of the highway connecting Kiev with Chernihiv.
At the same time, the aforementioned actions of the Russian Army may have cut off communication between the two groups of Ukrainian troops – this allowed them to send more forces and vehicles to the northeastern gateway of Kiev – Brovary.
There is also a series of battles going on, which could lead to the complete encirclement of the Ukrainian group in Chernihiv.

In the same report, the Ukrainian Army noted the fighting in the Vuhledar region (north of Volnovakha), where Russian forces and the Militia of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), were conducting a joint operation to into the Avdeevsko-Maryinsky army group of Ukraine.
A day earlier, the DPR Militia pushed the front line in Donetsk to the west, attacking a series of enemy positions in the front and flanks.
The Ukrainian army had to retreat, trying to strengthen the Kurakhovo-Ocheretino line (opposite Donetsk and Horlivka).
However, Russian forces have advanced from the southwest and are now only a few kilometers away from Kurakhovo.
