Vietnam asks Russia to help evacuate Vietnamese in Ukraine from war zone
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on the evening of March 15 (Hanoi time), Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son had a phone call with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. The two Foreign Ministers had a sincere, frank and constructive exchange on the conflict situation in Ukraine.
Minister Bui Thanh Son suggested the Russian side continue to organize humanitarian corridors and take measures to ensure the safety of civilians, including Vietnamese in Ukraine, to evacuate from war zones.
Talking to Foreign Minister Lavrov, Minister Bui Thanh Son suggested that the parties exercise restraint, reduce tensions and continue to make efforts to dialogue to find a long-term solution on the basis of conformity with international law and taking into account the interests of the Vietnamese people. legitimacy of the parties, and at the same time said that Vietnam is willing to contribute to this process with the international community.
During the phone call, Minister Bui Thanh Son once affirmed Vietnam’s consistent stance, according to which international disputes and disagreements need to be resolved by peaceful means, in compliance with the basic principles of international law. The two sides also discussed bilateral relations, in which Minister Bui Thanh Son suggested that Russia continue to pay attention to and create favorable conditions for the Vietnamese community in Russia to stabilize life, production and business.
