7.3 magnitude earthquake, Japan issued a tsunami warning

A 7.3 magnitude earthquake rocked the northeastern coast of Japan this evening (March 16), prompting authorities to issue a tsunami warning.

ABC news website, citing a notice from the Japan Meteorological Agency, said the earthquake occurred at a depth of about 60km off the coast of Fukushima Prefecture at 11:36 pm (Japan time). The agency issued a 1-meter tsunami warning for part of Japan’s northeast coast shortly after.
