The New York Times reported that a black man has been charged with attempted murder after being caught on security camera the moment he attacked an Asian woman (67 years old) with more than 125 punches. Tammel was arrested at the scene and taken to Westchester County Jail, New York state (USA) at about 6:15 pm on Friday (March 11). When police arrived, they found the victim lying in front of the house, while Tammel was still standing outside.
Police confirmed to the Daily Mail on March 15 that the man was being held without bail after assaulting an Asian woman and shouting racist taunts at her. .
It is known that Tammel has served time in prison for assault and drug trafficking. He was also arrested 14 times. Tammel served in prison from May 2011 to October 2013. His post-trial surveillance period expired in 2018, according to New York state records.

The attack happened on March 11 in Yonkers, an area of Westchester County just outside New York City.

Tammel has now been charged with second-degree murder as a hate crime.
