Billionaire Abramovich continues to receive sanctions from the EU

After the United Kingdom, it was the EU’s turn to impose sanctions on Roman Abramovich, claiming that the billionaire had a close relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Abramovich is not only subject to asset freezes and travel bans in EU countries. The 55-year-old billionaire still has a lot of damage because of the new EU sanctions targeting Russia, including a ban on Russian steel and iron imports, a ban on the export of luxury goods worth more than 300 euros and umbrellas. The price of a bowl is over 50,000 euros…

Abramovich is one of 14 Russians subject to new EU sanctions. The Chelsea boss was even named in a lengthy statement by the European Union.

Before the EU, Abramovich had all his assets frozen by the UK, including Chelsea club. Currently, this club can only operate thanks to a special license from the government. However, they are subject to a lot of financial constraints.

Chelsea are subject to a transfer ban and are blocked from negotiating new contracts with current players. They are also prohibited from selling any more tickets to unsold matches. Only fans with season tickets are allowed to go to the stadium to watch the Blues play.

In addition, Chelsea is also limited to spending on away trips, up to a maximum of £20,000. This resulted in the defending Champions League champions being unable to use the plane.

The London team can only operate normally after completing the process of changing owners. Before being punished, Abramovich soon hired an American bank, Raine Group, looking for partners who could potentially buy Chelsea.
