Poetry by Duong Ky Anh: Red shirt color
As if for thousands of years, coconut shells are drying in front of the door
The rain has just stopped, where do you wear a hat?
Red shirt, bright garden corner
He looked out, the leaves have changed color
The crock pot, the rain is full of sunshine
Glitter on the coconut trunks
There is a buggy that has just stopped in front of the alley
You have returned, the color of the red shirt has flown over
Poet Duong Ky Anh
I sit and wait, a cup of cool, sweet coconut water
Coconut mother, where are you going?
The color of the shirt is red like the afternoon sun disappears
I’m afraid of the sunset, the leaves change color
Oh, I wish I could make a sudden rain
drenched in a passionate red shirt
Oh, I wish I could make the sun burn
The sun caresses on the lapel night and day
As if life couldn’t be otherwise
The familiar red shirt color, the strange red shirt color
As if all his life his soul yearned for
Coming to hidden, infinite love…
