Quang Hai goes abroad, Asian newspapers say harsh words

The latest contract renewal negotiations between Quang Hai and Hanoi FC were unsuccessful. The 24-year-old midfielder is almost certain to become a free agent in April and is aiming to play abroad.

This information not only attracted the attention of the Vietnamese press but also the Asian media. Under the colors of Vietnamese teams, Quang Hai has been famous throughout the continent thanks to his participation and shining in many major tournaments such as: U20 World Cup, U23 Asia, Asian Cup and qualifying World Cup 2022.

Quang Hai shines at many levels of the Vietnamese team and in the shirt of Hanoi FC.

In an article on ESPN, journalist from Singapore Gabriel Tan commented on Quang Hai: “Quang Hai is one of the brightest promising stars in Asia. Quang Hai’s appearance is an important factor in helping Vietnamese football rise strongly in Asia.

They have become one of the 12 teams present in the final qualifying round of the 2022 World Cup.”

Besides the praise, Gabriel Tan also reminded Quang Hai of what happened to Vietnamese players who had gone abroad before:

“The current generation of Vietnamese players is called the golden generation, but they have not left a significant mark when going abroad to play.

Doan Van Hau to Heerenveen was not allowed to play in any matches in the national championship. Cong Phuong played only one official match in the color of Sint Truidense.

Cong Phuong failed when going to Belgium to play.

Despite expressing certain concerns, the journalist from Singapore ultimately believed that going abroad to compete was the right path for Quang Hai to develop his career.
