On the evening of March 15, the news that food and beverage shops could operate normally after 9pm received the attention of a large number of Hanoians.

At Ta Hien Street (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi) at more than 10pm, there were still quite a few people sitting and drinking.

After a long time of being restricted by the evening time frame, the restaurant is now allowed to operate until late at night. Seeing guests happily eating and drinking until late at night, Ms. Thuy (owner of a restaurant on Ta Hien Street) feels much happier. She shared, many days ago, there were no customers, there were days when customers had just arrived for a few dozen minutes, then it was time to close the shop according to regulations, thank you very much.

“In the past, there was a ban on sales from 21:00, our shop was very empty, only a few guests each night, the staff played for a long time, greatly affecting the revenue of the shop and everyone’s income.

I have a house here, so the impact of the epidemic only caused the shop to close, no revenue. But that is also more fortunate than some other business households because they have to rent expensive premises.

Today, there are more visitors than in the past days, but compared to the time when there was no epidemic, the number of visitors like this is still very small. We always remind our customers and employees to comply with the epidemic prevention regulations of the Ministry of Health. I hope in the coming days, the epidemic will be less, the customers will be more crowded, the business households here will be busier, and the rhythm of life will gradually return to normal,” Thuy said.

Reopening tourism activities in the “new situation”, Hanoi allows food service businesses to operate normally, without having to close before 9pm daily.

Service establishments, restaurants, bars and restaurants are allowed to operate normally, ensuring epidemic prevention and control measures according to the guidance of health authorities and relevant regulations.

Many restaurants are still full of customers when it is late at night.

Similar to the busy scene on Ta Hien Street, some restaurants and water stalls on Cho Gao Street at about 22:30, the number of customers is still quite crowded.

During the “opening up” period, Hanoi requires the agencies to absolutely not be subjective and negligent; continue to fully and synchronously implement regulations and measures for epidemic prevention and control; continue to effectively implement vaccination work; mobilize forces to join with the grassroots medical force to implement guidance on treatment of F0 at home, minimizing the number of severe cases and deaths. People’s Committees of districts, towns are required to ensure adequate human resources, facilities, medical equipment and other conditions for treatment in the area; organizing teaching and learning in association with ensuring safety and preventing epidemics…

For the Department of Health, the Hanoi People’s Committee requested to continue to perform well the assigned functions and tasks; review and add treatment beds in hospitals to meet the health care requirements of the people; improve treatment capacity, minimize the number of deaths.

For the Department of Tourism, it is necessary to continue to review and update the guiding documents of the Government and ministries to welcome international tourists to Hanoi; coordinate with districts and related agencies to strengthen inspection and urge accommodation establishments, travel agencies, and service businesses to ensure epidemic prevention and control.
