From April to October 2017, units of the brigade fought on the Svetlodarskaya arc in the Donbass before withdrawing to the base in Cherkasskoye in the Dnepropetrovsk region to restore combat capabilities.
In 2019, the units of the brigade returned to the Donbass, taking charge of the section of the line at Gorlovka, Donetsk for a relatively short time.
It is known that units of the 53rd Brigade have been deployed in the Volnovakha area since February 24, and some of the brigade’s soldiers have surrendered before being officially surrounded and removed.
