Dong Nai hands over more than 300 hectares of land to build Long Thanh airport

Long Thanh District People’s Committee has just organized to hand over another 304 hectares of land in the area of ​​1,810 hectares, phase 1 of the Long Thanh international airport project. Of which, 1,500 hectares have been officially handed over to the Southern Airport Authority to be handed over to investors. The remaining area is temporarily handed over to ensure the construction progress of the items.

It is expected that on March 23, Dong Nai will continue to hand over another 300 hectares of land in the area of ​​redundant land (722 hectares).

Previously, Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh directed Dong Nai province to focus on completing the handover of all 1,810 hectares and handing over 722 hectares of reserve land in February 2022 as committed by the locality. For the remaining area to be completed before June 30, 2022. Strive to complete the entire project in the first quarter of 2025.

Long Thanh international airport project is built on an area of ​​5,000 hectares, is an airport of 4F level, with a designed capacity of 100 million passengers and 5 million tons of cargo per year after completing three phases in 2014. 2050. The project has a total investment of more than 16 billion USD. To build Long Thanh airport, Dong Nai province must acquire land from 5,283 households and 26 agencies and organizations in 6 communes of Long Thanh district including Binh Son, Suoi Trau, Cam Duong, Bau Can, Long An and Long Phuoc .

Phase 1 of the project with an area of ​​​​1,800ha has been started since January 2021 and is expected to be completed in 2025.
