The 22-year-old girl who underwent plastic surgery died after 2 months of living a vegetative life
Ms. Pham Thi Diem Hieu (SN 2000, born in Long An) is a victim in the case “Plastic surgery to lift the nose, the 22-year-old girl was in a coma for a week without waking up, facing the risk of becoming a vegetative person” in January 2022 at the private house of Mr. Hoang Minh Phong (Tuong Mai ward, Hoang Mai district, Hanoi).
Regarding the above incident, on the evening of March 17, a family member of the victim said that Pham Thi Diem Hieu died yesterday evening (March 16).
According to the victim’s family, on February 25, Hieu was admitted to Long An Hospital after a period of emergency in Hanoi.
“Since the day of the incident, my family has been very expensive, hundreds of millions of dong for surgery but could not save her. The person who caused the incident for Hieu promised to compensate the family for the damage. They are currently at our house to offer condolences and burn incense for her.”the victim’s sister shared.
Victims of the incident
Previously, on social networks, a clip recorded an image of a woman being treated at a hospital after having a rhinoplasty at a cosmetic facility in Hoang Mai district, Hanoi.
According to the recorded image, the victim is in a coma, having his hair cut by the doctor to prepare for surgery. According to research, the victim was identified as Pham Thi Diem H. (22 years old, from Long An). Currently, the victim is being treated at the Poison Control Center, Bach Mai Hospital.
Sharing the incident, Ms. Dao Ngoc D. (a close friend in the same room with Ms. H.) said that H.’s health is still very bad, life can be affected at any time.
According to Ms. D., Ms. H. had an accident after having rhinoplasty at Hoang Minh P. cosmetic facility at lane 147A, Tuong Mai ward, Hoang Mai district, Hanoi. Before that, Ms. H. went to work as an eye doctor and met Mr. G. working at a beauty salon. After that, this girl was introduced by Mr. G. to a place where a quality beauty salon could do a nose job. After 3 times of paying 37 million VND for Mr. G. and Ms. H. asked ‘I’ve just been infected with Covid-19, can I recover for nearly a month, can you do it’, Mr. G. replied: ‘Yes, after 14 days It’s okay, it’s okay.”
On January 14, Ms. H. went to this facility to do rhinoplasty. At 12 o’clock on the same day, Ms. D. received a message from her best friend who came to the beauty salon to pick her up. However, when she got there, Ms. D. called and didn’t see her friend picking up the phone, texting and not answering.
Due to impatience and worry that her friend would have a problem, Ms. D and her friends kept calling and texting H. but did not receive a reply. “At about 6pm, we received a phone call from Mr. G. He told us to go to Bach Mai hospital immediately because H.’s health was very weak and could not be operated on”, Ms. D. recounted.
After hearing the news, Ms. H.’s relatives crossed a distance of 1,500km from Long An to Hanoi. On the morning of January 21, talking to PV Dan Viet, Mr. Do Phuoc A. (H.’s brother-in-law) said that his brother-in-law is still in a coma, in critical condition.
“The doctors told my family that H. has only 20% of his life left, if he lives, 80% will become a vegetative person. Right now, my family is very worried. My father-in-law is directly in the hospital room taking care of him. H. Due to the epidemic, the family can be taken care of by another person after 7 days. Mr. A. shared.
According to Mr. A. after the incident, the homeowner, Mr. G. and a doctor and his family were present at the hospital to apologize to the family after what had happened. His family also reported to Hoang Mai District Police to accept and investigate the matter.
“For nearly a week now, the treatment cost for my sister-in-law has been over 60 million VND. Currently, the family is waiting for the conclusion of the Poison Control Center doctor on whether brain surgery can be performed on H. My family hopes that she will pass. Everything is left to the law to handle.”Mr. A. said.
Sharing about his family situation, Mr. A. said that Ms. H. is divorced, currently has a 1-year-old child who is sending her mother to take care of her. This girl works outside Hanoi to support her family.
Before the above incident, Mr. Hoang Minh Ph. (the owner of this establishment) confirmed that the above incident occurred. However, victim H. is not a guest of this cosmetic establishment, but this unit “lents a place” for Mr. Nguyen Sy G. to perform rhinoplasty.
