Transport enterprises massively increase freight rates

Hai Van International Shipping Joint Venture Company also simultaneously increased fares on routes from Hanoi to the northern provinces with an increase of 60,000 – 70,000 VND/way. Specifically, the route Hanoi – Dien Bien (sleeping bus 34 – 36 seats) increased from 415,000 VND to 485,000 VND; The route My Dinh – Muong Cha (sleeping bus) increased from 380,000 VND and 430,000 VND to 450,000 VND and 500,000 VND respectively.

In Ho Chi Minh City, many transport enterprises have also registered to increase freight rates. Mr. Do Phu Dat – Deputy Director of Mien Dong Bus Station (Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City), said that up to now, 30/153 transport units operating at this bus station have applied for applications. ticket increase.

Similarly, many businesses at Mien Tay Bus Station (Binh Tan District, Ho Chi Minh City) have also sent declarations of adjustment of ticket prices to the authorities.

Deputy Director of Mien Tay Bus Station Tran Van Phuong said that after businesses declare their fare adjustment, the unit will send it to the Departments of Transport of provinces and cities, when accepted, the new bus station will be increased. prices and listings at ticket counters.

Mr. Ta Long Hy, Deputy General Director of Anh Duong Vietnam Joint Stock Company and Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Taxi Association, said that the current increase in gasoline prices was too much for businesses to bear, so the company had to adjust price adjustment. The enterprise is expected to ask for an increase of about 1,000 VND/km.

“We are waiting for the decision to reduce environmental tax to recalculate properly and submit to the Department of Finance of Ho Chi Minh City to apply for a fee adjustment in this March”, Mr. Hy informed.

According to research, many taxi companies also increase the fare by about 1,000-2,000 VND per kilometer, equivalent to an increase of 10-15%. Despite the increase in fares, taxi drivers said it was still very difficult.

A taxi driver said that the car company had increased the fare by 1,000 VND per km for a 4-seater car. However, this increase is not significant, according to this driver, at least an increase of 4,000 – 5,000 VND per km is required to make up for the gas bill.

Before that, Grab – the largest car-hailing company in Vietnam, announced to increase the fare for all services from March 10 to support drivers when gas prices hit the highest ever.

This ride-hailing company increased the price of the first 2 km of 4-seat GrabCar service in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to 29,000 VND, 7 seats to 34,000 VND. Both of these levels increased by 2,000 VND compared to the current one. Each subsequent kilometer of these two services also increases to 10,000 VND, an increase of 500 VND.

In other provinces and cities, the price of GrabCar service increases by 2,000 – 2,500 VND for the first 2 km, about 600 VND for each kilometer after that.

The increase in freight rates this time of transport enterprises is due to the pressure from the consecutive price increases of gasoline.

In the most recent adjustment period, on March 11, the domestic gasoline price had the strongest increase in history. Specifically, the price of gasoline E5 RON 92 to 28,980 VND / liter, gasoline RON 95 is 29,820 VND / liter. This is also the 7th consecutive increase of domestic gasoline prices since mid-December 2021.

In addition, the prices of all kinds of oils increased. Kerosene reached 23,910 VND/liter, an increase of 3,940 VND. Diesel oil is 25,260 VND/liter, up 3,950 VND. Fuel oil 20,980 VND/kg, up 2,520 VND.
