On March 17, Hanoi’s Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control held an online briefing with Steering Committees of districts, towns and communes, wards and townships.

At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Chu Xuan Dung said that in the past few days, the number of Covid-19 cases is still high but has tended to decrease, the rate of F0 patients being hospitalized is low, and the number of deaths has decreased. That shows that the city has controlled the epidemic situation.

Mr. Chu Xuan Dung said that up to now, the city has “opened up” back to activities to adapt safely and flexibly but ensure control of the epidemic situation.

Therefore, localities need to be more proactive in developing plans and scenarios to respond to the Covid-19 epidemic in the new situation. In particular, focusing on epidemic prevention and control under the motto “4 on the spot”, absolutely not being negligent, ready to deal with any possible epidemic situations.

City leaders also noted that localities continue to pay attention and support F0 patients with underlying diseases, the elderly, and high-risk groups; at the same time, continue to mobilize the participation of F0 care and support groups for home treatment. Localities speed up the progress of vaccination with the third dose and end this March.

Regarding the issue of Vietnam opening its doors to international tourists from March 15, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee suggested the Department of Tourism to take the initiative in measures to ensure safe arrival of tourists to prevent and control the epidemic.

Mr. Chu Xuan Dung also requested the Department of Health to coordinate with relevant units to promote the implementation of digital signatures to support the settlement of social insurance payment procedures for F0 patients.

According to him, the reopening of the city for activities does not mean loosening, but “opening the door” with effective control and management.

The number of cases, the number of hospital admissions tends to decrease

Director of the Department of Health Tran Thi Nhi Ha confirmed that the number of cases and hospital admissions tended to decrease in the last 7 days. The proportion of patients with severe disease and patients who were transferred to floors also tended to decrease.

To adapt to the new situation, the Director of the Department of Health proposed to continue implementing the plan to protect and supervise people at risk and at high risk; further accelerate the 3rd injection for the entire population; strengthen communication, especially masks and disinfection, self-care at home…

Information at the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training Tran Luu Hoa said that last week the rate of teachers and students infected with Covid-19 decreased sharply. The situation of direct teaching at schools still ensures and maintains flexibly adapting according to the guidelines, guiding documents of the city and the education industry.

The representative of the Department of Education and Training suggested that districts, towns continue to direct educational institutions to promote propaganda and update information fully related to epidemic prevention and control; at the same time, strengthen the direction of educational institutions to promptly report and develop plans suitable to the actual situation for students to return to school.

Regarding this, Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Chu Xuan Dung asked the Department of Education and Training to soon issue specific instructions so that districts, towns, based on the number of cases, to proactively decide on direct teaching for students. students from grade 7 to grade 12 are suitable for the new situation.
