American teen self-driving car caused an accident that killed 9 people

A 13-year-old boy driving a pickup truck caused a serious accident on a highway in the state of Texas (USA), killing 9 people and injuring 2 others.

Fox News, citing an announcement from the Vice Chairman of the US National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) Bruce Landsberg, on March 17 reported that the pickup truck driven by this teenager entered the opposite lane on the road. a freeway in West Texas, and crashed head-on into a bus carrying members of a college golf team on the evening of March 15.

The collision caused both vehicles to burst into flames, 6 members of the golf team and the coach were killed. The teenager driving the pickup and the father sitting next to him also died. The accident also left two other people in the golf cart with serious injuries, and hospitalized in critical condition.

According to Mr. Landsberg, at the time of the collision, both cars were traveling at a speed of nearly 120 km/h.

Texas law stipulates that people who are at least 14 years old can attend driver’s license classes and until the age of 15, they will be granted a temporary driver’s license, which means they must still be accompanied by an instructor.

The NTSB is continuing to investigate the incident and will release a report in about two to three weeks.
