A man in Aurangabad district (Maharashtra state, India) has found a solution in the situation of gas prices in this country increasing “dizzy”, which is to ride a horse to work.

Many people who saw him riding a horse thought he was probably a farmer, but he is not, Shaikh Yusuf – this is the name – works as an assistant at a modern laboratory at Chavan Medical College of Medicine.

Previously, Yusuf rode his motorbike to the laboratory, 16km from his house. A few months ago, he bought a horse for 40,000 rupees (about 12 million VND), named Jigar. Buying a horse seems reasonable again, because recently, the price of gasoline has increased, so the horse is very successful.

Yusuf told ANI news site: “I don’t use a motorbike anymore. Gas prices are skyrocketing, and public transportation is not convenient. With gas prices on the rise like that, horseback riding is clearly a good option.”

Mr. Yusuf also sees the positive side of the matter, that horseback riding is also a sport, riding a horse to work every day will make him healthier than riding a motorbike.

Although many people find that Yusuf made an interesting choice because gas prices in India are 100 rupees per liter (about 30,000 VND) while a week’s meal of horses can be as little as that; but some others wonder why Yusuf doesn’t ride a bicycle, because the money to buy a horse and raise and take care of it can sometimes be more than the money to buy a bicycle.

Anyway, because of horseback riding, Yusuf has become quite famous where he lives and also works, because in the middle of a busy street with cars, the image of a guy wearing a backpack, riding a horse to work is indeed is very fancy.
