Hanoi is about to have a pedestrian street in the Southern Urban Area of ​​Ring Road 3

Hoang Mai District People’s Committee said that according to the project of organizing a pedestrian street reported to the City People’s Committee, the pedestrian street is divided into 4 main areas.

Food area: Organize culinary activities including street food, experience area of ​​world-famous cuisines and Vietnam, introduce colorful regional culinary products.. .

Trade and service area: Organizing fashion and cosmetic shops of famous world and Vietnamese brands, selling souvenirs, cultural products, traditional fairs or seasonal thematic fairs.

Arts and culture area: Organizing street art activities, mass promotion activities, individual, group, or organizational art shows, conveying to the public joy inspiring love of art in diversity and color; organizing flower roads according to routes, stops for sightseeing, taking photos, tree clusters, themed flowers, paintings, statues, art installations… bring unique experiences to people.

Sports area: Organize outdoor sports activities, street sports, concert events, mini tournaments for many sports: roller skating, skateboarding, breakdance… bringing fresh air young, healthy, full of life… creates a lot of positive, healthy energy and sports-loving spirit.

The operating time of the pedestrian street is 3 days a weekend. In which, the summer operating hours are from 19:00 on Friday to 24:00 on Sunday; Winter operating hours are from 6pm on Friday to 24pm on Sunday.

It is expected that the pedestrian street will carry out pilot operations for 2 years (2022 and 2023), and then officially come into operation from January 1, 2024. The pedestrian street is chaired and directed by the People’s Committee of Hoang Mai district; Bitexco Joint Stock Company is directly assigned to manage.

Previously, in Document 3474/UBND-DT dated July 29, 2020, the Hanoi People’s Committee approved in principle the establishment of a pedestrian street in the New Urban Area South of Ring Road 3 (located in the ward of the city). Dai Kim, Hoang Mai district and Thanh Liet commune, Thanh Tri district).
