Mitsubishi Triton surpasses Ford Ranger in sales for the first time

Ford Ranger has been familiar with the first position on the monthly best-selling pickup chart for a long time. According to a report from VAMA, in February, the auto market saw a decrease in sales compared to the previous month because it coincided with the Tet holiday. Ford Ranger pickup truck suffered the same fate with 230 cars sold, a decrease of 70% compared to the previous month.

In addition to the general trend of the market, the Ford Ranger in early 2022 was announced by the dealer to be out of stock, causing a sharp decline in model sales, especially in February. Meanwhile, Mitsubishi Triton also experienced a sharp decline in sales to 59%, sold 294 vehicles in February, but due to 64 vehicles more than Ranger, it became the best-selling pickup truck of the month.

Although Isuzu D-Max has low sales for many consecutive years, in February 2022, this model also holds the 3rd position in the segment when it sells 77 vehicles. The decrease in sales compared to the previous month was 45%. Standing in the next position is Mazda BT-50 with 61 cars sold.

Besides, Toyota Hilux is also in short supply, so last month did not sell any. According to shares from some dealers, Toyota Hilux is currently out of stock, it may take until May to have a car for sale. This version will be a new car in 2022 and may be an upgraded version, meeting Euro 5 emissions standards. The Nissan Navara pickup model did not provide data.
