Samsung bet “terrible” on Galaxy Z Flip4
Samsung is said to have ordered up to 60% more folding screen panels for the Galaxy Z Flip4 than the previous generation.
According to a new report by Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC), Samsung plans to order much larger screens for the successor to the Galaxy Z Flip3.

According to YoungSamsung Display is expected to start shipping these panels as soon as April, but shipments are expected to be nearly 60% (8.7 million) higher than Samsung’s initial display shipments. Samsung Display for Galaxy Z Flip3 in 2021 (5.1 million).
The Korean smartphone maker is expected to ship even more foldable phones this year. This was also revealed by Samsung last November, when it was expected to ramp up production of both the Z Flip4 and Z Fold4.
However, Samsung will focus more on the production of the Z Flip4 than the Fold, possibly due to market demand and more affordable prices that are easily accessible to users.
The Z Flip3 5G launched with a starting price of $999, significantly lower than the Z Fold3’s $1,799 price tag.
