New Jersey is one of the states in the US that reopened tourism services early and successfully. Tourists brought the state nearly 40 billion USD in 2021, an increase of 23% compared to 2020. There are many reasons for this success, of which the most important is still to safely adapt to the new epidemic situation.

Every day, Ms. Nicole – Director of Grand Cascades Lodge Resort, New Jersey begins her working day by checking the cleaning work in preparation for welcoming guests. In addition to masks, keeping distance, hand sanitizer, calculating the number of guests attending each event to ensure safety is very important.

“Today there is an entertainment program with dinner, so each family sits at a separate table, not immediately as before. Or in the game room, which can accommodate 50 people before, now we limit it to 10 people. Tighter even If there are 2 children in the family, only one parent will come down to play. In general, we try to limit people in small groups,” Ms. Nicole said.

The above principle also applies to all activities of the resort from spa, to swimming pool, dining room or coffee shop. Each family, when finished using, has a person to clean and disinfect, then to other groups. Guests can choose to wear masks or not, but for staff, they absolutely must.

Mr. Cameron Soto – hotel employee said: “I am comfortable with regulations such as wearing a mask when coming to work. In the past, when reopening, these adjustments were not very familiar, but over time, It’s not that bad at all.”

The hardest part is the hotel room cleaning process. All items after check-out are cleaned and disinfected with products according to medical standards. This process takes more time, so guests’ check-in time is late and check-out is earlier. In return, afternoon activities will decrease and evening activities will increase. The customers are all satisfied with these adjustments.

“Safety is the number one priority for my kids and family. Hotels can only survive and live well when they take measures against COVID-19. Because guests will come back if they feel comfortable. roof and really safe,” said Ray Bowski – a tourist.

With safe adaptation measures to the epidemic, New Jersey’s tourism industry in 2021 has recovered strongly. Rates of bookings at resorts and hotels has increased by more than 70% compared to 2020. In which, there have been no outbreaks in the resorts, while the infection rate is kept at the lowest level.
