Users complain about iOS 15.4 causing battery drain-Information Technology

Recently, Apple has officially released iOS 15.4 with many notable improvements, such as the ability to unlock iPhone while wearing a mask.

Whenever Apple release update iOS, iPhone owners started complaining about battery life. It seems that iOS 15.4 is no exception when Twitter is flooded with reports of severe battery drain, specifically:

Previously, the ZDNet site explained why battery drain occurs after updating iOS: “Installing a new operating system on an iPhone will trigger a lot of things to work in the background, from setting item to battery recalibration and this can last for hours or even days.

Recalibrating the battery might make you think the battery is draining faster, when it’s not. In addition, the new features included will also make the iPhone battery drain faster.”

Basically, give your iPhone a few days to recalibrate before starting the assessment. Chances are the iPhone’s battery life will return to normal soon, of course, this depends on how old the phone is.

You can see the battery health by going to Settings – Battery – Battery health. For example, my iPhone 11 has decreased by 17% (only 83%) after two and a half years of daily use.

Bad battery experiences aside, there are plenty of reasons to install iOS 15.4 on your iPhone. As mentioned above, iOS 15.4 allows users to unlock iPhone with Face ID when wearing a mask, which is quite useful in areas where the mouth is still worn to limit the spread of the disease.

iOS 15.4 also adds an American voice for Siri, Live Text integration in the notes and reminders app, anti-tracking reminders when using AirTag, and more.
