What are the characteristics of astronaut drinking water?

Astronaut drinking water has different chemical and physical properties than regular drinking water. To create 1 liter of this water, SMAT’s factory has to process 10 liters of source water. In addition, the cost of transporting water to space is also very high, so the price of this water is more expensive.

It is estimated that 1 liter of their space drink costs up to 50,000 euros (1.2 billion VND).

Currently SMAT is working on technology to produce a water that can be stored for at least two years, about the same time as a two-way trip to Mars.

The company hopes the product can accompany the first astronauts to set foot on the Red Planet.
