Musicians Pham Thanh Ha and Tien Cookie both confirmed that the song “Di Du Dua Di” was plagiarized

However, it seemed that this incident would be supported by fans in Vietnam, but the reaction went in the opposite direction. Specifically, below the articles sharing about the incident, the Vietnamese online community supported Charli XCX because of… the Cookie Fairy scandal in 2019.

At this time, the female musician had a big controversy when she spoke “Singers should only love their profession, not the public.”. It is this that makes the online community “excavate” again and thinks that the female musician does not need an audience, so there is no reason to defend.

Fairy Cookie’s controversial post 3 years ago

The rather hasty action of a part of Vietnamese netizens is creating a wave of protests on social networks. For many years now, a Vietnamese song plagiarizing foreign music has received great criticism and created a “stain” in the career of the song’s owner. However, when facing the opposite case, it was the Vietnamese online community that turned away from the Vietnamese artist.

Many comments also proved difficult to understand the reaction of a part of netizens when because of an author’s scandal, they were ready to turn their backs on the fact that foreign artists illegally used Vietnamese music. The Vietnamese music industry is developing and reaching out to the world, so besides artists, the Vietnamese online community is also the ones who contribute a lot of effort to repel the same illegal use of gray matter.
