Close-up of the “biggest” avenue in the capital is widened, anti-flood

The investment project to expand the road to gather Thang Long Boulevard, the section from Phu Do overpass to Le Trong Tan street (Ring 3.5) has a length of about 3km with a total investment of more than 163 billion VND. The project started in 2021 and is expected to be completed in 2022. The project is invested by Thai Son Construction Investment Joint Stock Company (VinGroup).

According to the Hanoi Department of Transport, this is a project that uses the investor’s own capital to overcome frequent flooding and traffic jams on the road and underpasses of Thang Long Avenue.

This road is often flooded after every heavy rain. (Photo flooded at Thang Long Avenue in April 2021).

According to a representative of the project management board, to speed up the construction progress, the unit deployed three construction projects with more than 40 workers divided into two shifts per day.

Currently, the contractor has completed the barricade work, cut down trees, is digging the ground, and embanking the road.

According to the design, the existing aggregate road surface will be widened from 6 to 8m, at the same time, build an overpass system and improve the drainage system on the route. Some sections of the bridge are compensated for settlement to ensure a smooth slope when traveling for vehicles.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Yen, who lives near Thang Long Boulevard, said she was very pleased when the project was built. “We often suffer from flooding and traffic jams every time it rains heavily. I hope the completed project will solve that problem,” Yen shared.

In the photo, the contractor has expanded the road surface and is continuing to complete the next items.

It is expected that the project to expand the road to gather Thang Long Boulevard will be completed in July 2022.
