After more than 3 years and 8 months in temporary detention with 3 subpoenas but unable to be brought to justice, in 2006, the Ho Chi Minh City Public Security Investigation Bureau released him and issued a decision to stop the investigation of the accused against him. .Nhan because “the investigation deadline has ended but there is not enough evidence to prove the crime”. Released, he spent nearly 9 more years struggling to recover his honor and material loss. One morning reading the newspaper, he saw information from the Law Office of the Poor. Both were impressed by the name full of sharing messages and as if to say something, he decided to come and be accompanied by a lawyer and dedicated help free of charge.
“Every weekend, I take a bus to Ho Chi Minh City, stay at an inn at Mien Dong Bus Terminal for 50,000 VND/night, and then wake up in the morning to the lawyer’s office for instructions or directly to the authorities to send It’s still the same every week, for years the people at the bus station have known him. I am waiting for the day to be justified, to receive a sincere public apology and be returned to the rights I deserve. I used to be so tired that I wanted to give up, but the suffering of the people I deserved. the person charged with “Murder”, “Robbery” still clings, haunts, and urges me. Do everything you can to reclaim what is yours,” Nhan said.
In mid-2015, he publicly apologized by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Procuratorate, compensating him more than 290 million VND for 1,346 days of unfair imprisonment and after 9 years of seeking justice. Paid more than 100 million VND, the rest Mr Nhan took him to Dak Lak for business. But then 3 times he rented land to plant trees and made a loss, he was empty handed.
With no capital left, Mr. Nhan went to many places to work for hire. At the end of 2019, he applied for a job as a porter in a company, but in early 2020 due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the owner fired an employee, he was dismissed. Back at his friend’s house, Mr. Nhan farmed your land before becoming the current guard.
