Doctor Truong Huu Khanh, consultant of Infection – Neurology Division at Children’s Hospital 1 (HCMC), answered questions from readers of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper.

– Reader [email protected] asked: I am F0, the rapid test was negative on the 6th and 7th day of the illness. On the 11th day, tested by PCR, TC 31.1. So is there a risk of infecting family members?

PCR above 33 is not contagious anymore. Rapid test is less sensitive than PCR, so it often gives negative results before PCR is negative in people who are recovering from disease. After the initial 7 days of isolation, Covid-19 patients should still self-monitor their health and wear a mask.

– Reader [email protected] asked: I have F0, no symptoms, have been isolated for 7 days. May I ask when can I reintegrate?

If you want to know for sure that it is no longer contagious, only PCR test, and if only a quick test, you can wear a mask for another week.

– Reader [email protected] asked: Treating Covid-19 at home after Saturday, quick test is still 2 lines are not blurred and there are no symptoms, is that normal?

There are rare cases of being positive for as long as you are, but that does not affect the severity of the disease. If you have been positive for 1 week and are still healthy, have no symptoms or mild symptoms and have subsided, there is nothing to worry about, only if you are still positive, you must isolate more so as not to infect others.
