The man caught the giant “primitive fish” weighing 266kg
USA Today recently reported on a rare incident that happened in the Fraser River area in the province of British Columbia, Canada. A man working as a fishing guide has caught a giant creature up to 3.3m long, weighing up to 266kg and up to about 100 years old, looking extremely hard to believe.
Specifically, last week, Dan Lallier, from Alberta, was fishing with his longtime fishing guide Yves Bisson on the Fraser River when he suddenly caught a giant fish the size of which is bigger than a fish. “terrible” alligator.

Yves says he has caught more than 22,000 sturgeons during his 20 years as a fishing guide and this is the second heaviest fish he has caught.
The sturgeon is sometimes referred to as a “living dinosaur” because it is a fish that dates back to prehistoric times and continues to exist today.
“This is one of those things I’ll never forget,” Yves told Storyful. And Dan Lallier experienced a range of emotions, from shock and surprise to excitement, astonishment and fear.
After catching the fish, Yves’s group released it again into the river. A video posted to YouTube shows Mr Yves grabbing the fish by the head and pulling it into shallow water.
Mr. Yves, who owns a company that runs fishing trips in the US Yves Bisson Sturgeon Co., told For The Win Outdoors: “This is very normal behavior. The sturgeon remained very peaceful and docile in shallow water after being released. This huge fish swam away after being released, a scene that the video does not show and I am sure. that it will live another 100 years.”
Previously, in July 2021, Mr. Yves also posted a video of a giant sturgeon jumping into the water on the company’s Instagram page and attracted 4.7 million views. The giant fish was identified as a sturgeon, about 50 years old and weighing more than 158 kg, 2.7 meters long. It jumped out of the water, wagging its tail so hard, it nearly fell into the boat, causing those on board to scream in terror.
