The price of Subaru Forester has dropped by nearly 200 million VND again

Most recently, in March, Subaru continued to maintain a deep incentive program of up to 230 million VND for customers buying Subaru Forester cars. In which, customers buying Forester will be supported with 100% of the registration fee and a total discount of 199 million VND for the 2.0iL version and 184 million VND for the 2.0iS EyeSight version with accessories worth 30 million VND.

As a result, the price of Subaru Forester 2.0 iS EyeSight is now only VND 1,288 billion instead of VND 1,104 billion. Subaru Forester 2.0 iL is currently only priced at 929 million VND.

Less interested, Subaru Forester deeply reduced price by nearly 200 million

Notably, in the past 1 year, almost every month this model has been applied by such a deep discount by the Japanese car company. This leaves consumers with question marks.

In fact, the Subaru Forester has always been appreciated for its strong and stable performance. The equipment is comfortable and safe far beyond competitors in the same segment. However, this model is still little attention.

The main factor that makes consumers turn away from Subaru despite its high rating is the price and brand factor.

The high price tag and the Japanese car brand (still popular) make this car company in a passive position, it is difficult to compete. All Subaru products are priced at over 1 billion VND. This price is halfway between popular car brands and luxury cars, making it difficult for consumers to access.

Before that, in June and early July 2020, the new Subaru Forester also had a seal when users “complained” the car was moving normally, when suddenly the check engine light on the dashboard suddenly lit up. lake (light “goldfish”), at the same time the car shows signs of abnormal operation.

In the Vietnamese market, the Subaru Forester belongs to the compact crossover segment, which is competing directly with rivals Honda CR-V and many other locally assembled models such as Hyundai Tucson, Mazda CX-5. While competitors all receive a 50% discount on registration fees from the Government, the Subaru Forester is an imported model, so it is not eligible for this support package. This is one of the reasons why Japanese automakers have to promote promotions to gain market share.
