Before the sudden passing of Ms. N., her relatives were extremely shocked and saddened. According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Tram (34 years old, living in District 6, Ho Chi Minh City, N.’s older sister), the victim is a single mother, after divorcing her husband, she raised her 13-year-old daughter alone.

Ms. N. has just recovered from Covid-19 for about 3 months, her blood pressure is low, especially after being infected with Covid-19, her health condition is much worse than before, she has to be hospitalized for protein infusion 3 times a week.

“At first, the family also prevented N., did not want him to have surgery because of his weak health, the surgery was postponed for a week but he wanted to do it. Did you tell N. that my health is like that, from from let’s do but N. keep say ‘I want to do it, maybe I can change my life’. When I heard that sentence, I just kept silent, thinking that the doctor would ensure my health and then give me an operation, but I never thought…”, Business & Marketing quoted Ms. Tram.

At present, the body of Ms. N. has been cremated by her family after performing forensic procedures. Ms. N.’s family also wants the authorities to soon find out the cause of her death, and at the same time, the hospital will not deny responsibility.

As previously reported, according to Ms. Tram’s account, on the morning of March 18, Ms. N. announced that she was going to have surgery breast augmentation and asked to transfer to the doctor 40 million dong.

Ms. N. was taken by a doctor named NT to 1A Hospital for surgery at 11:30 a.m. on the same day. At about 3pm of the same day, when Ms. N. did not come out, her family members asked the doctor and received the answer that Ms. N. was not awake because of anesthesia for surgery.

Because of worry, the family of Ms. N. asked the doctor to let her in to look at her face for peace of mind but was refused. After a while, the family continued to look for them, but the doctor replied that “the patient has low blood pressure” and did not allow them to see him.

Tram’s sister said: “Dr T. told me that after moving my sister out of the recovery room, she suddenly had difficulty breathing and had a drop in blood pressure. The hospital contacted the doctors of Pham Ngoc Thach Hospital to provide emergency care. but it couldn’t be saved. My sister’s corpse is now purple.”

According to Ms. Tram, when the family entered N.’s operating room, everything was cleaned up.

Ngo Anh Tuan, Deputy Director of 1A Hospital, confirmed that the doctor who directly performed breast augmentation surgery for patients had a labor contract and had a full practicing certificate.
