Binh Phuoc proposes to build a bridge connecting Dong Nai

The Ma Da Bridge is expected to connect Dong Nai, shortening the distance from Binh Phuoc to Long Thanh airport by more than 60 km, according to the Binh Phuoc People’s Committee.

On March 20, the Binh Phuoc People’s Committee proposed to the Government to consider and approve the construction of the Ma Da bridge with the overall traffic planning of the area passing through the province during a meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh.

According to Binh Phuoc province, the Ma Da bridge will help connect the Central Highlands and Binh Phuoc province with Long Thanh International Airport, Cai Mep – Thi Vai port, which is 60 km shorter than the current route.

The Ma Da Bridge is estimated to be 11 m wide, 90 m long, spanning the river of the same name. This work is part of an investment project to upgrade and expand the DT753 road with a length of 30 km, class III scale, total investment of 655 billion VND, using local budget, approved by Binh Phuoc People’s Committee. Investment opening July 2021.

According to the network plan for the period 2021-2030, with the 2050th vision approved by the Prime Minister in September 2021, road DT753 will be upgraded to National Highway 13C (starting from Dong Xoai City, Binh Phuoc to Trang Bom District, Dong Nai Province).

Prior to that, in 2013, Binh Phuoc had upgraded the DT753 road and built a bridge with a total investment of 173 billion VND. However, the project had to be stopped because Dong Nai province did not agree to build the Ma Da bridge. In addition, Dong Nai’s side also blocked roads and prohibited ferries from crossing the river for fear of disturbing the forests of the Dong Nai Cultural Reserve.

During his meeting with Binh Phuoc today, the Prime Minister heard provincial leaders report the direction of the road project from Dong Xoai city to Dong Nai, which is linked to strategic transportation infrastructure work in the area. Southeastern areas such as Ho Chi Minh City Circle Road 4, Cai Mep – Thi Vai Harbor, Long Thanh Airport…

After inspecting the Ma Da river area located between Binh Phuoc and Dong Nai, the Prime Minister emphasized the spirit of planning, implementing the project in the shortest possible time, most effectively, with the least ground clearance, and minimal impact. . The Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Transportation to immediately work with the provincial People’s Committees: Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai and relevant agencies to agree on an investment plan to upgrade the DT 753 route and build the Ma Da bridge.

Government leaders asked Binh Phuoc province to prioritize resources for the development of transportation infrastructure, in the near future, road traffic, especially strategic highways such as: Ho Chi Minh City – Thu Dau Mot – Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc); Toll road project section Gia Nghia (Dak Nong) – Chon Thanh (Binh Phuoc).
