Ho Chi Minh City sets new criteria for ‘secondary school, international integration’

The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has just issued a regulation on the criteria for admitting schools that implement the high-quality “secondary school, international integration” program. Each level of PAUD, SD, SMP and SMA has its own criteria to ensure the quality of teaching.

This decree replaces a set of “high school, international integration” criteria first issued in 2014 with more specific requirements.

A set of criteria requires that 100% of secondary school teachers have an A2 level of English, secondary school teachers have a B1 level; Not set up for primary school teachers. A new set of criteria requires all primary school teachers and above to use communicative English.

The district People’s Committee, Thu Duc City and the Ministry of Education and Training will make plans to build advanced and integrated schools. Each school level in the region has at least one school that follows this model.

The secondary school model with international integration was first piloted by Ho Chi Minh City in 2005 at Le Quy Don High School, District 3. Currently, 40 schools in the city operate under this model, including 16 kindergartens, 13 elementary schools. , eight junior high schools and three high schools.

An advanced international school built to meet the learning needs of students and society; approach the development trend of education in countries in the region and internationally, and at the same time ensure a bold national identity.

In addition to the standard of personnel, facilities, and student learning outcomes, advanced and integrated model schools will be charged higher fees than ordinary schools. The three main incomes include: determined tuition fees; revenue according to the advanced model 1.5 million VND per month; other agreed income (semi-boarding, shuttle bus).
