A group of people singing at an underground karaoke bar (no. 82 Pham Ngoc Thach, Trung Tu ward, Dong Da district, Hanoi city) was locked by the shop owner and refused to let him home when asked to check by the functional forces.

On March 20, Dong Da District Police said that Linh Duong karaoke bar is owned by Mr. Vu Van Duong. The shop has 4 employees including Trieu Van Lieu, Ta Van Minh, Nguyen Tung Lam and Nguyen Xuan Tap.

In the face of the complicated situation of the Covid-19 epidemic, Hanoi has not yet allowed karaoke bars to open to welcome guests to sing, but this shop is still operating underground.

According to the Dong Da District Police, during the underground operation, Duong directed the staff to perform tasks such as guarding, looking after the car, keeping an eye on the outside. customers walk to the restaurant.

More sophisticated, this person asked the staff to guard the outside, if the police force came to check, then call the phone to report inside.

On the evening of March 18, this karaoke bar welcomed 21 guests to sing in 3 rooms, and at the same time welcomed 4 female staff to serve pouring beer. At 23:00 on the same day, receiving news from the masses, Trung Tu ward police conducted a check on Linh Duong karaoke bar.

When the police force came to check, Lieu presented as a security guard of a karaoke bar, so he brought Lieu back to the ward police station to work, so he did not have time to report inside.

During the inspection by the police force, the staff of this restaurant turned off the music, paid for the rooms, asked guests to stay in the room, waiting for the police force to leave, they will return.

At first, the customer agreed, but about an hour later, the police force was still outside, so many customers asked to open it, but the staff did not let the guests return.

It is worth mentioning that after that, Duong and some customers and employees climbed through the emergency exit into a nearby motel to hide, leaving 16 guests and a female employee pouring beer in the karaoke bar. Unable to leave, these guests reported to the ward police, then the police organized a force to take all 16 guests and 1 female employee out.

At about 3:30 p.m. on March 19, the police force discovered the number of subjects hiding in Hong Ngoc motel, so they brought all the people in the motel back to the office.

The case shows signs of illegal detention. Currently, Dong Da District Police are coordinating with Trung Tu Ward Police to continue to clarify.
