Images taken at the scene and from satellites by Maxar Technologies show the severity of damage to the theater in the southern Ukrainian city of Mariupol after the air strike.

The suburbs northwest of the Ukrainian capital Kiev also became the target of attacks on March 19. The Kiev regional government said the city of Slavutich, north of the Ukrainian capital, was “completely isolated”, while Russian military assets had been detected east and northeast of Kiev.

On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk announced that 10 humanitarian corridors have been opened after reaching agreement with the Russian side. These include one corridor in Mariupol, as well as several corridors in the capital Kiev and Luhansk province.

In a video address on the evening of March 19, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Russian forces were blockading the largest cities in Ukraine.
